We offer a broad spectrum of professional psycho-social support services to people from all walks of life and we serve a large area within the greater Tshwane. We champion our clients’ emotional well-being and strive toward their optimal social functioning and healing.

Over the years we have touched the lives of more than 8 000 people in our community – be it in individual counselling, through victim empowerment, therapeutic groups, workshops or community work. We are passionate about people and care deeply for those who experience emotional hurt and pain. Khuluma Family Counselling is a professional counselling centre, a Non-profit Company which is situated in the Gauteng province of South Africa, a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) and a Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Beneficiary Recognition Certificate (B-BBEE). Khuluma was established in 2001 and has developed from a lay counselling and crisis centre into a professional counselling centre since 2008.

At Khuluma individuals and families are supported to see through their problems so that they can be emotionally stronger and cope better with life’s challenges. Our focus is on counselling and therapy from within a Christian framework to all people who are in emotional, mental or social need. Family preservation and victim empowerment are of the essence to us. The family is the transmitter of values and a virtual “school” of love.

Our support and services are based on the following values:

Khuluma uses respectful sensitive approaches to enable people to reclaim their lives from the negative effects of contact crime and trauma and to recreate meaning to their tomorrows. Khuluma fills a void in the Mooiplaas and Olievenhoutbosch communities in terms of much needed therapeutic and support programmes for victims of sexual and gender based violence. Since it became a Non-profit organisation and a Public Benefit Organisation in 2007 and 2008 respectively, it has established satellite offices in Mooiplaas, Olievenhoutbosch, Wierdapark and Mamelodi. As we value the importance of prevention we developed our services beyond counselling to community education, advocacy as well as presenting courses to beneficiaries such as women, school children, youth and men.

Khuluma has established itself as one of the leading organisations in victim empowerment in the Centurion area with strong partnerships with SAPS, hospitals and schools since 2013. Our goal is to be a bench mark community and family centre rendering services in the greater Tshwane area, and to become well known nationally and internationally.
